Through barter-driven materials acquisition, we were able to raise the roof on our post-and-beam house, cultivate a large garden plot, and establish an immense compost system. We hosted resident Sophie Mellor from the UK for one month and Topographia Collective continues as visiting residents throughout the summer and fall. We lived full-time in Tres Piedras, renovating three historic homesteads and learning a lot about off-the-grid living. We worked with student groups at the University of New Mexico and University of Houston, and traveled to Texas, Chicago, Colorado, and New York for various projects ranging from water conservation workshops to tours of radical reuse to site-specific building practices.
